Matt Sumner believes that the most important years of a person's spiritual life are often the earliest ones. That conviction has shaped his entire approach to ministry and drawn him to work with children at Victory Baptist Church.
Matt was saved as a child and credits the faithful teaching he received in his early years for the faith he walks in today. He came to VBC with a vision for building a children's ministry that would do the same for the next generation — one that is Bible-centered, energetic, and genuinely life-changing.
He and his wife serve together in the children's ministry and are passionate about equipping parents to disciple their children at home as well as at church.
Matt directs all children's ministry programming at Victory Baptist Church, including Master Clubs, Sunday morning children's church, and special kids' events throughout the year. He recruits, trains, and supports a team of dedicated volunteers, selects curriculum, and communicates regularly with parents. His goal is to see every child at VBC come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and grow in their walk with Him.
