I'm New

We’re glad you’re here.

The first time you step into a strange church can be intimidating, but we want you to feel welcome here. Hopefully, by answering some common questions ahead of time, we can give you a feel for what you can expect when you visit. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home." No matter where you are in your spiritual journey—we have a place for you.

SUNDAY Morning Worship

10:30 AM
You will be helped by our morning worship service filled with uplifting music from our choir and others and biblical preaching by Pastor Fellure. You will find his preaching to be thoroughly biblical, practical, and challenging. Childcare is available for ages 0–3.

SUNDAY EVENING SERVICE

6 PM
Our evening service is a wonderful time together as a church family. In this service, Pastor Fellure focuses on the practical issues we face in our world today and God’s plan for our lives, both individually and as a church. Childcare is available for ages 0–3.

MIDWEEK PRAYER SERVICE

7 PM
Our Midweek Prayer Meeting is a challenging and refreshing service as we spend time seeking the Lord. In these services we spend time in corporate prayer, hearing reports from the missionaries we support, and a study of God’s Word. Childcare is available for ages 0–3.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
EXPECT A WARM WELCOME

We love having guests at Victory Baptist, so be prepared to be greeted by our church family! You will find our people friendly, welcoming, and ready to do their best to make you feel right at home.

EXPECT A HELPFUL MESSAGE

We believe that God’s Word should be at the center of all that we do. The preaching will be straightforward and aimed at the heart…you can be confident that you will leave with something to take home and implement in your life this week!

EXPECT AN INVITATION TO RETURN

This may be your first time coming to Victory Baptist, but we certainly hope that it won’t be your last. Don’t be surprised if someone encourages you to come again or invites you to another gathering. We want you to know that you are welcome to join us any time you are able.

WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS VBC?

We are a Baptist church which means that we believe the basic Bible doctrines for which Baptists have historically stood. We make no apologies for being Baptist and don’t try to hide that fact by taking the word out of our name. We are Baptists by conviction and principle, not by affiliation.

WHAT ARE THE SERVICES LIKE?

It depends on where you’re coming from! If you are used to a formal, ritualistic type church then you will think our worship is loud and lively. If you are used to a contemporary, Christian-rock style church then you will find us cold and formal.

Our music is traditional and conservative. We still like to sing the old hymns our grandparents used to sing because there is
so much doctrine in those anointed songs. We may mix in some choruses here and there, but the old red hymnal gets used every service. During the service we may have several groups or soloists provide special music: we don’t have any rock bands but we do have some godly people who have been blessed with tremendous talent.

The main focus of each service is the preaching of God’s Word. Our pastor or a guest speaker will give a Bible message that addresses the problems of life. We believe the Bible has the answer to every problem and the power to comfort, correct, or instruct every need.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

There is not a dress code at Victory Baptist Church for our guests. We do believe that church is important enough to wear your best, so our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress.

AM I EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OFFERING?

No. Though you are welcome to participate if you would like to, we don’t invite you to Victory Baptist Church for your offering. We simply want to be a blessing to you and hope that you will find Victory Baptist to be a place where you can develop a deep and personal relationship with God in a warm family atmosphere.

WHAT SECURITY DO YOU HAVE?

It is tragic that the question even needs to be raised, but with the violent attacks on churches in the past few years many churches have been wise to adopt security policies and procedures. At Victory, we have a trained security team monitoring the buildings and property during every service, and we conduct a security audit each year by an in-house security expert. We have additional security measures in place each week, but it would not be prudent to detail them publicly.

We hope these questions/answers give you a glimpse into what kind of church Victory is. If we have missed something, just give us a call or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit to Victory Baptist will be uplifting and encouraging!
